Flash backs from Rhett DeMars at tonight's dinner.....

Tonight I fixed salmon, squash and onions, green beans, and brown rice. (so many veggies b/c Neil won't eat anything but green beans). We bought the salmon at Sam's and they were marinated and pre-grilled. I wasn't sure how the girls would like it, but they love tuna, so we decided to give it a whirl! Sadie Anne started eating and asked for more salmon 3 times. By the end, she ate an entire filet. Carleigh on the other hand didn't seem to love it. Neil and I made her try a bite (only b/c I was forced to sit at the dinner table for hours until I ate my fried okra - now one of my favorite foods, didn't work for pinto beans, though). She put a tiny bite in her mouth and she began the Rhett DeMars gag reflux. Very similar to the Sunday at the Town and Country restaurant in St. Matthews right before Rhett was headed to the Citadel. I think the entire table bet that he wouldn't eat a rutabaga and being as strong willed as he is, he put it in his mouth. His Grandmother, DoDo, was eating them like they were chocolate at the other end of the table. And Rhett was fighting to urge to ----------! Fun memories and great stories we will be happy to share with Rhett's kids one day!
