We have sad news to report from the White House. Our dear friend and fish, Cooper died today. He is survived by his tankmate, LuLu and two adorable roomates, Carleigh and Sadie Anne. He has been a special part of our family since Valentine's weekend 2010. He spent his days swimming around and lighting up the girls room and watching over them at night.
Thank you to Bobba for all the times that I was his helper in washing rocks and tanks and tranferring fish from one place to another. Those have turned out to be very useful skills.
On a lighter note, I actually found the dead fish this morning when looking for Sadie's shoes. There were too many things going on that I wouldn't dare mention the passing this AM because brushing teeth is a major struggle. I expected emotions, and they were quite emotional. I sent Neil a message and we decided how we would handle and then neither of us thought of it again. After I had fixed dinner (which was fish....no pun intended) and was getting ready to pick out clothes and it hit me. I think they became more emotional when they beat me upstairs and saw Cooper floating sidewise in the tank. Neil sat them down and shared the news (video to follow). Then we preceeded upstairs and held a quiet ceremony in the bathroom and said our last goodbyes.
Carleigh's new favorite song is Carrie Underwood's "Temporary Home" and she hummed that when we moved LuLu to her temporary home in the Tang pitcher.
