VBS Buckaroo Round-Up

This week is VBS at church and it has been a blast so far. Today the total number of kids was 2199. That is unreal considering Pastor Bill announced on Sunday that we had over 600 registered. There are many "characters" that are dressed up and are visiting each classroom during the Bible Story time. Our friend Mel is "Deputy Donteventryit". They all have trading cards just like we had once upon a time with baseball cards. Each character has silly, made up facts about themselves on the back and their photo on the front. There are outlaws and lawmen/women. Each day they hand out their trading cards and are available for autographs. The girls have also gotten their VBS t-shirts signed. Tonight was Biltmore Baptist Church night at CiCi's pizza. 50% of the proceeds from sales was given back to the church to support the 3 mission projects for this week. 1. Operation Christmas Child - the shoebox ministry 2. An orphanage in Africa 3. Henderson County Animal Shelter 2 more days to go and I can't wait to see what the Lord does. This is only the 2nd time Carleigh has been able to do VBS and this is Sadie Anne's first time. I have always been working during the day and they couldn't go. They are loving it and I am so grateful to be a part of a church that invests this much time, resources, talent, and money into this many children. Thursday is the last day and there is a Family Night that evening to wrap up the week. I have been helping in grade school music. It is exhausting, but wonderful.
