Our Summer has been nuts. Let me update you with a few highlights from our incredibly busy, but very memorable summer.
July 4th at Sa Sa's - We had so much fun. Sa Sa's neighbor had a 30 foot camper and they pulled it on the driveway and the girls and I slept out there. Neil had to work and couldn't join us. The girls got to experience picking corn (in their bathing suits) and Carleigh completed her first dive. Enjoy the photos.......
Weekend at the lake with the Berry's - We went to the lake with Brad and Stephanie Berry, friends from college. Their kids and ours had never met. Instant best friends. Carleigh and Ansleigh fished and Sadie Anne learned to ski. They rode the intertube all weekend, to breakfast, to dinner, and beyond. It was wonderful to visit with them.
Camping with the neighbors at Fontana Village - We had the crazy notion that tent camping would be so much fun. Neil fumbled upon Fontana Village through his work and it is a beautiful place, but the next time, we will rent a cabin with indoor plumbing and a floor, rather than grass. I have to admit, it was a lot of fun. The resort had a pool with a lazy river. Neil was able to ride the Dragon's Tail for the 3rd time. The dam is the largest dam east of the Rockies. It was breathtaking.
Montgomery Trip - We went to Montgomery the week before school started. We went to celebrate Ms. Doris' birthday, Grandfather's upcoming birthday, and an opportunity to meet Ms. Doris' family. We were also there for Jake's first day of his Senior year. We all had a great time. We came home early in the week and spent the rest of the time relaxing and getting ready for the first day of school for Carleigh.
First Day of School - Carleigh is now in the 3rd grade and that is so hard for me to believe. Ms. Byrne is Carleigh's teacher and she was so excited, just the teacher she wanted. She is even helping to coach Carleigh in Girls on the Run.
Labor Day at Litchfield - We went to Litchfield, SC for Labor Day and to celebrate Sadie Anne's birthday with Rion, Susan, Rebekah, and Hannah DeMars. We had a great time and the girls absolutely loved the beach. Rode waves and played in the sand. We had perfect weather and ate wonderful food.
I think you are all caught up now.....Sorry it took me all summer and into early Fall to get you there.....
ENJOY!
